No longer the Okie Family

A lot has happened in the past year. We no longer live in Oklahoma. We've since moved to Texas. My mother, Sandra Mikkonen, passed away in February of 2007 from Leukemia at the very young age of 64. We all miss her like crazy, but I'm sure she's a lot happier where she is now. Deacon is now 3 1/2 and has four cousins. All of which are very cute.

No News!

Hello! Just writing for the sake of writing. My mom is doing much better! She is getting better every day. Thanks for all the prayers! She is looking into the possiblity of knee surgery as her knees are very bad. I think this would really help her to get more active. So, my fingers are crossed.

Chris, Deacon, and I are doing fine. Chris and I just finished painting and "texturing" our kitchen. I DO NOT recommend texturing. Very messy. We are fixing our house up to hopefully get it on the market in October. Why? Well, we're moving to Georgetown, TX. Chris is going to join his father's CPA business there. It's crazy, I know. If you map it, you will see Georgetown is just north of Austin. Ya'll are welcome to come stay with us once we get set up.

Current News

Hello, all. Where's the picture, you say. Well, this is actually just a note.

Last Sunday night my mom went into the hospital again. She was doing very poorly all around. It was pretty much 'you name it, she had it.' She's doing better now except for a swollen neck and painful jaw. They did a CT scan on her neck last night to try and figure out what is wrong. They also told her yesterday that she has congestive heart failure. I would like to request prayers for her at this time. And if you think about it, prayers for my family, too. I, for one, am pretty stressed out about all of this. Not only is my mom very sick, but I am trying to get my house ready to sell. And we are trying to coordinate our move to Austin later this year. Thanks in advance for your prayers.
